Mark P. Leo of Honolulu, Hawaii, is currently serving as Potentate of the Aloha Shriners. Leo was elected Potentate, part of the 7-member elected body that governs the Aloha Shriners, during the organization’s annual election of officers – held in Honolulu, HI, December 2017.
Mr. Leo was raised a Master Mason in Honolulu Lodge F&AM in Honolulu, HI. He became a member while studying at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and went on to serve as Master at the age of 25 – one of the youngest in Hawaii’s history. He is a member of both the Honolulu Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies of Hawaii, having been awarded the Knight Commander Court of Honor and membership in the Red Cross of Constantine. In addition, Mr. Leo currently serves as a Grand Lodge Inspector for the Grand Lodge of Hawaii, having served as a Grand Lodge officer since 2015. In 2014, Leo was honored with the Mason of the Year Award for the State of Hawaii.
Leo served in many positions within the Aloha Shriners before becoming an elected officer, including serving as an appointed officer for 4-years, serving the membership committee for 3-years, and serving as Captain of the Patrol. He is also a member of the Aloha Shriners clown unit where he’s known as “Big Red.” In addition, Leo continues to serve as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee, where in 2016 he helped earn the Aloha Shriners the prestigious Imperial Dromedary Award for best website in the Shriners International system.
In 2016, Leo was appointed to the Imperial Public Relations Committee (IPRC) by Chris L. Smith, Imperial Potentate and Chairman of Shriners Hospitals for Children. As one of thirteen Regional Public Relations Directors for Shriners International, Leo is responsible for overseeing the public relations of Hawaii, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona – a region which includes 15 Shrine Centers and 3 Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Leo is also a Member of the Board of Governors of Shriners Hospitals for Children-Honolulu, where he sits on the hospital’s committees for strategic planning and public relations. Leo also sits on the planning committee for Hawaii’s Annual Shriners Charity Golf Tournament – a fundraiser hosted by Associa Hawaii.
Leo serves as the Principal of Pacific Web Management, a web technology firm based in Honolulu, HI. In addition, he is a proprietary derivatives trader and manages a privately traded options wealth fund investing in local small businesses. Most recently, Leo was recognized by Pacific Business News (Business Journals) as one of Hawaii’s 40 Under 40 business honorees.
In his down time he enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family & friends and traveling.
