A. Chris Acosta of Honolulu, Hawaii, is currently serving as Potentate of the Aloha Shriners. Mr. Acosta was elected Potentate, part of the 7-member elected body that helps govern the Aloha Shriners, during the organization’s annual election of officers – held in Honolulu, HI, December 2016.
Mr. Acosta was raised a Master Mason in Yokosuka Lodge No. 20 in Yokosuka, Japan and is a member of Hawaiian Lodge, as well as the Honolulu Scottish Rite and Kalakaua York Rite Bodies of Hawaii. Mr. Acosta is a Senior Demolay, having been of member of the International Order of Demolay for over 17 years. As a Past Master Councilor (2002) of Vallejo Chapter and Senior Demolay, Acosta continues to serve as an advisor for the Hawaiian Chapter of Demolay in Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition, Acosta currently serves as the Senior Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Hawaii.
Mr. Acosta has served as Chairman of the Aloha Shriners membership committee for 3-years and helped lead the temple to Gold Status in 2016. He is a member of both the Provost Guard and Patrol Units, and is an honorary member of Aahmes Islander Shrine Club.
Mr. Acosta is currently an operation room nurse at Straub Medical Center. Prior to working in the medical field, Mr. Acosta served our Nation for over 10 years in the United States Navy. He continues to serve our Country and armed forces as a member of the US Navy Reserves.
In his down time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, cooking, photography and reading.
