For decades, each Noble who has served as Potentate of the Aloha Shriners has marked his year with a commemorative pin—each one a unique reflection of personal inspiration and the spirit of our organization. Over the years, these designs have ranged from golden starbursts and regional flags to surfing teddy bears and playful Hollywood caricatures.
As Potentate of the Aloha Shriners and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Shriners Children’s Hawaiʻi, Illustrious Sir Joseph Ernst worked with local artist @momichu to envision something both modern and deeply meaningful: a contemporary teddy bear designed with patients in mind. His 2026 Potentate’s pin is inspired by, and created for, the children he serves through our mission, with the simple and heartfelt goal of bringing a smile to their faces.
